The School Career Development Advisor Training is a 45-hour program designed for providers who work in many settings and help prepare K-12 students for meaningful work. School Career Development Advisors work with other staff to coordinate the design, implementation, and monitoring of school and community-based efforts to improve the chances of students entering the job market with the skills, knowledge, and credentials to be, and remain, competitive. A student manual is required for each participant in this training program.
The objectives for the SCDA Training are (1) knowledge of skills related to student career advising and (2) knowledge of skills related to working with business and industry.
Individuals successfully completing this program are eligible to apply for the Certified School Career Development Advisor (CSCDA) credential available through the NCDA Credentialing Commission.
