Tammison Smith, CSCP, FCDI

Tammison Smith, PhD, LPC, CSCP, is Associate Director of Career Development and Outreach at St. Cloud State University, where she partners with faculty to integrate career development into the curriculum and supervises graduate students’ training for careers in career advising and other student affairs areas. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member, teaching master’s-level counselors-in-training courses such as career development, multicultural counseling, and field experience. Dr. Smith earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University and her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Avila University. She is the Past President of the Minnesota Career Development Association. Her professional interests include professional identity development, counselor and career practitioner education, the responsible integration of artificial intelligence in career development, and using assessment to understand and demonstrate the impact of professional and educational efforts. Beyond her professional work, Dr. Smith’s interests have included developing a therapy dog program, teaching disaster psychology as part of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, and continuing to study opera.
