Stacey Carrillo, CCC

Stacey L. Carrillo, PhD, NCC, CCC, has spent nearly 30 years working in higher education, with a career that has allowed her to support students and professionals at many different stages of their development.

Career development has been a consistent thread throughout Dr. Carrillo’s professional journey. She began her career in university career services, as a career counselor. She then transitioned into human resources, where her work included employee relations, staff development, and organizational training. During that time, she helped create and ultimately oversaw a university-wide training department designed to support the ongoing learning and professional development of employees.

Dr. Carrillo has a master’s in counseling from the University of Nevade, Las Vegas, and a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision from Oregon State University. She is currently a counselor educator at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she teaches graduate counseling courses and helps prepare future professional counselors. Perhaps not surprisingly, of all the courses she has taught over the years, Career Development and Counseling remains her favorite.
